About Me

Hi, Everyone! My name is Kathy Scott and I am your teacher for the 2016-2017 school year. I am so excited to get to know each of you.

I was born and raised in Homestead and now live in the Redlands. I attended Princeton Christian for 14 years and graduated from there in 1991. I played softball and basketball (although not very well!) and I was also a cheerleader.

I attended college at Florida International University (FIU) and received a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education. Go Panthers! I also have a Master's Degree in Science Education from Florida State University (FSU). I am certified in ESOL and in General Education K-6. I received my National Board Certification in Mild to Moderate Disabilities in 2003.

I started teaching in 1995 at Redland Middle School and moved to Campbell Drive 2 years later. So, this year will be my 20th year at this school and my 22nd year teaching!

I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 19 years and we have 2 sons.

I love to travel and have backpacked all over Europe. Walt Disney World is one of my happiest places on Earth! Also, I enjoy reading for fun and going to the movies (nothing scary, though). My family and I love to go fishing, snorkeling, and boating. Chocolate chip cookies and  peppermint patties are my weakness smiley

I hope you enjoy being in my class this year!!
